our mission statement

At CN Sports FC our aim is to create a community focused organisation, providing positive life enhancing experiences using football to help the people of Blackpool and surrounding areas.

We aim to provide the best access to junior football we can and create a safe, enjoyable and supportive environment to all, regardless of age, gender or ability. Led by our committee and our team of enthusiastic and qualified volunteers, we encourage the development of players’ footballing skills and sportsmanship. At CN Sports, we seek to provide an opportunity to develop the physical, mental and emotional growth of our players and other club participants such as coaches, volunteers, committee and family members. We pride ourselves on excellent standards of player and supporter behaviour.

We strive to ensure players enjoy their junior football with us and concentrate on long-term development rather than short-term goals, with the support of the significant adults in their lives.

OUR HISTORY

CN Sports Football

1999-2016

Chris founded CN Sports in 2019 after coaching sport in the area for over 20 years. A Blackpool FC season ticket holder and keen golfer, Chris began volunteering as a football coach for Blackpool FC Football in the Community in 1999. This lead to him becoming a qualified football coach in 2006.

Working as a sports development coach and later assistant sports development officer at Fylde Coast YMCA, Chris went on to be an Inclusion Officer AFC Fylde Community Foundation 2013, before taking the position of Early Years sports coach at Blackpool FC Community Trust in 2014.

2016-2018

After working with a number of primary schools and nurseries, Chris returned to the YMCA as head sports coach in 2016 to successfully run sports coaching session and sports holiday camps.

In 2018, Chris’s dedication to coaching earned him the Fylde Coast Council, Coach of the Year award.

2019 to date.

Following 20 years of coaching sport on the Fylde Coast Chris founded CN Sports in 2019. The aim was to allow children to develop skills through sport with an emphasis on fun while learning. As well as the physical and mental health benefits that sport brings, team-based activities also help to develop essential communication and social skills. These skills benefit children as they grow and develop into adults.

The club now has 16 boys and girls teams and is run by a committee with the help of volunteer coaches and parent volunteers.

CN Sports – Grassroots Football Club for boys and girls offers sessions and teams for children in Blackpool, St Annes, Lytham St Annes and the Fylde Coast.
